Lora Jean Allen – Registered Nurse
Hello! My name is Lora Jean Allen. In 2009 I began my nursing career as an ADN trained RN. I started working at an Internal Medicine Clinic and continued whittling away at school to finish my BSN. I bring experience from traditional hospital medicine on a medical surgical floor to the most recent position on a postpartum floor. The last six years as a nurse in traditional medicine have opened my eyes to realize that our patient population is rapidly becoming more chronically ill all while we continue to dump exorbitant amounts of money into a broken healthcare system that is not patient centered. It has been incredibly challenging for me to care and be the nurse I desire to be in a traditional healthcare setting. However, I believe our broken system goes far beyond that. It enters into our lives personally where we find ourselves not fully healed, but broken. This may strike a cord with you from a physical, spiritual, mental, emotional or financial point of view. My heart became excited in 2015 when I was introduced to Dr James and True Life Medicine through my family. It feels great to get excited to see your doctor doesn’t it? A Doctor who listens and puts practical tools in your pocket that you may live out your own sense of wellness on a day to day practice. It is an honor to be a part of this incredible collaboration of team members who are caring, educated and passionate about their patients. This is True Life Medicine – a patient centered practice. Functional Medicine is a tool I believe will become more and more well recognized by our society at-large as individuals begin to build value in seeing themselves as whole beings and as individuals who desire to have true healing, which essentially starts with ourselves. Each aspect of our being, truly needs to be healed and well in effort to have our best function in this life. I look forward to working with you in our journeys of wellness together! Blessings!
Sharyn Grace – Medical Receptionist and Assistant
I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA. It took me 35 years to figure out I’m not a beach girl, I’m a mountain girl. I have loved living in Green Mountain Falls for 24 years enjoying all that it has to offer.
My favorite things – Hiking and running the beautiful trails, gardening, snowshoeing and mostly hanging out with my husband, two children, two dogs and a glass of wine.
I have worked within the medical field for over 35 years as a Respiratory Therapist and most recently, medical assistant.
I am thrilled to start a new journey in Functional Medicine with a fabulous team. Looking forward to meeting all of you in your journey to “wellerness”.
Paul – Phlebotomist
Your Phlebotomist is Paul Lopez. Paul has been drawing blood and processing samples for 15 yrs. He started as an EMT at Memorial Hospital as an ER technician in 2000. He worked there for 7 yrs. Now he is with Quest Diagnostics. He has been with them for over 4 yrs. He is a people person and loves interacting with his patients. Paul is great at encouraging his patients to relax during the blood draw procedure. If you see a red Yamaha V Star Motorcycle in the parking lot you know he is here.
Kevin Miller – Clinic & Global Platform Developer (& Functional Medicine Evangelist)
I partnered with my great friend Randy in 2015 to jump outside of the traditional “healthcare” structure and create an innovative clinic model that allowed him to deliver Functional Medicine and truly help people become “weller”, as he would say. We did it in 6-months. Now we are developing the platform to bring Functional Medicine to the masses. We share a big vision for Functional Medicine and providing the masses with an opportunity to get true, life-giving care. I’m a lifelong athlete who puts a dramatic value on being fully functioning, in body, mind and spirit. I’m Daddy to 9 kids (one new addition missing from the pic below!) and a grand son who I’m charged with giving a heritage of “wellerness”. I acutely understand the challenges of walking out and affording a healthy lifestyle for a family, which helps me guide patients in achieving the goals they have for their…True Life. I’m a past pro cyclist and lifetime business developer. I have the dramatic honor of being host of The Ziglar Show, a top Business podcast in iTunes. Our goal at Ziglar is to “Inspire Your True Performance”. What a perfect alignment with True Life Medicine. I adore living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at 9,200′ with my Bride and our kids amidst the majesty of the Rockies where I run trails, kayak and mountain bike around Rampart Range Reservoir. I’m a devoted lover of great food and fine drink. Coffee and wine are truly devine (True Life Medicine will one day have it’s own wine brand!).
